From Theory to the Field: Technical Trip Held in Scope of Bee Disease Lesson

Associate Professor of teaching the University of Balıkesir. Home Ayşe Ebru BoruM Facultemiz was held in Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Main Bee and Bee Products Production Center within the scope of Bee Diseases Lesson, which is readable to 4 classroom students.

Within the scope of the realized technical trip, our students have the opportunity to learn and observe the information on the main beekeeping, colony management, bee health and diseases, the production of bee products and modern treatment practices.

The technical trip has made significant contribution to our students to associate theoretical information with applications and to recognize current applications in the field of treatment. One of the events that are met by students of the trip was the ball tasting competition. Our students have experienced both fun and tutorial by evaluating different types of honey in terms of sensory features. In the competition, our students were gifted honey.

As Balıkesir University Veterinary Faculty, we continue training activities that support the professional development of our students and bring theoretical knowledge with the application areas.
